Richard Corbett MEP

Richard Corbett MEP
Richard Corbett MEP
Richard Corbett is the Deputy Leader of the European Parliamentary Labour Party and represents Bradford, Calderdale,East Yorkshire, Hull, Leeds, North Yorkshire, Wakefield and York in the Yorkshire & the Humber region.

Richard says

“I see my role as an MEP as representing my constituents from Yorkshire and Humber in the European Parliament to the best of my ability. We must use the EU to find common solutions to common problems that cannot be solved by national action alone. This requires EU institutions that are effective, efficient and accountable.

In addition, I will continue to push for reform to the two least successful aspects of the EU - the Common Agricultural Policy, which is only half-reformed, and the Common Fishing Policy.

It is also vital to preserve and strengthen the 'European Social Model' in the face of globalisation, particularly in the environmental, consumer protection and social fields.”
