Robert Evans MEP

Robert Evans MEP
Robert Evans MEP
Robert Evans is the Chair of the European Parliamentary Labour Party and represents the London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Richmond upon Thames and Sutton.

Robert says

"I work tirelessly in the European Parliament for Londoners, particularly on the main Committee on Transport and Tourism, recently bringing in new legislation addressing access to aeroplanes for disabled people and persons of reduced mobility. This dossier changed the laws surrounding passenger rights, making it unlawful for airlines to discriminate against passengers with reduced mobility.

I am also campaigning hard to clean up the car-hire industry, calling for improved levels of regulation and consumer protection.

As the European Parliamentary Labour Party's Animal Welfare Spokesman and an active member of the Animal Welfare Intergroup, I work assiduously for improvements in Animal Welfare, which is an issue that Londoners care about, judging from the volume of post. I am also fighting for an EU-wide ban on the use of primates in scientific experiments, a ban on bullfighting, as well as putting an end to whaling and seal clubbing."
