Glenys says
“I aim to reflect Welsh views in discussions and votes in the Parliament. My role is to provide information, advice and assistance on any aspect of EU legislation my constituents may be concerned about. I sit on the European Parliament’s Development Committee and am Co-President of the African Caribbean and Pacific/EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. As Europe is the biggest donor of aid and the world’s biggest trading bloc, it plays a crucial part in efforts to make poverty history. I also aim to gain recognition for the benefits of EU membership and the EU’s successes in improving the environment, promoting investment in research, advocating food security and consumer rights, managing migration and stimulating trade and employment. Such benefits are particularly felt in Wales, where, since 2000, £1.5 billion of European regional funding has been invested - bringing more and better jobs and regenerating communities. Labour MEPs have successfully made the case to continue this support.”
