David Martin MEP

David Martin MEP
David Martin MEP
David Martin is a Member of the European Parliament representing Scotland.

David says:

“Being a Labour Member of the European Parliament for Scotland allows me to work through the Socialist Group to achieve the best deal from Europe for my Scottish constituents.

On working conditions, employment, education, environmental and social policies many of the decisions that affect our lives are now taken in Europe. Being in such a dynamic and progressive group allows me to do more for my constituents. In Europe, we are stronger together than alone. But my constituents don’t just want to know what Europe can do for them. They want to know what they can do for Europe.

Being on the Committee for International Trade allows me to carry forward the desire of the Scottish people to Make Poverty History. By pushing for new initiatives on ‘aid for trade’, which will help developing countries raise the standards of their people, my role helps fulfill the wishes of my constituents.’’
