Eluned says
"As an MEP my role is to represent the interests of Wales and its people in the European Parliament and to communicate the benefits of the EU to my constituents.
I am currently a member of the Parliament's Industry, Research and Energy Committee and I take a particularly active interest in policies which focus on securing energy supplies, combating climate change and promoting research and innovation. I have recently produced the European Parliament's response to the European Commission's Green Paper on energy.
More widely, I am engaged with ensuring European funding continues to bring jobs and prosperity to Wales. Over the past seven years Wales has benefited from £1.5 billion of Euro cash and, thanks to the EU budget deal reached under the UK Presidency, that level of support is set to continue until 2013. I am committed to working with my colleagues in Europe and Wales to ensure this funding helps build a bright future for Wales."
